An Oriental orchid whose leaves stand up stiff and straight, like wire.
That bearing was likened to the unbending integrity of a scholar, and the name Cheolgolsosim came from it. The flowers are a clean jade colour and carry a quiet scent.
It settles into almost any room. Half-shade with some air movement, and water every seven to ten days; little else is needed. Oriental orchids such as this are grown in Korea, China and Japan for their leaves, and are the usual potted gift for an opening, a promotion or a new appointment.
It is planted in a plain pot rather than a pierced one, white porcelain with a gold painted design, and a saucer comes with it.

Promotions, new posts, formal thanks — the Korean orchid is what people send when the occasion calls for restraint. It flowers for a long time and the foliage stays neat on a desk or in a reception area.
That depends on the season and on the plant. Some go out in flower, some with the spike still rising. If it matters that it arrives in bloom, tell us before you order and we will check what we have that day.

Your message and your name, printed as you write it. Four-character Chinese phrases such as 祝 昇進 are the convention here, but English or Korean is fine — we print exactly what you type.
Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.
The leaves stand as stiff and straight as wire, a form likened to a scholar’s unbending integrity, which is where the name comes from; the clean jade-green flowers carry a quiet scent. What sets this one apart is how little it asks: it adapts exceptionally well, and a watering every seven to ten days in well-ventilated partial shade is all it needs. Planted in a plain pot without openwork.
A cymbidium in a ceramic pot is the traditional Korean gift for a promotion, a retirement, a new office or a formal congratulation. It is understood as the dignified choice — restrained rather than showy — and it is usually placed where visitors will see it.
A ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot, so please write the sender name exactly as you want it read.
