An Oriental orchid with golden striping set deep into the leaf edges.
The leaves are thick and sturdy and the variety is a strong grower. Water when the surface of the compost has dried, about once a week, and keep it where the air moves. Even someone who has never kept one before will manage it on a desk in an office or on a counter.
Oriental orchids are grown for their leaf markings in Korea, China and Japan, and are the usual potted gift for an opening, a promotion or a new appointment.
It is planted in a small celadon pot with a cut-out pattern and an eight-sided foot, so it will sit on a desk.

Promotions, new posts, formal thanks — the Korean orchid is what people send when the occasion calls for restraint. It flowers for a long time and the foliage stays neat on a desk or in a reception area.
That depends on the season and on the plant. Some go out in flower, some with the spike still rising. If it matters that it arrives in bloom, tell us before you order and we will check what we have that day.

A Korean cymbidium with deep golden striping along the leaf margins. The leaves are thick and sturdy and the variety is very hardy, so watering when the surface soil has dried — about once a week — and a spot with air movement is enough; even a first-time grower can keep it on an office desk or a counter without difficulty. Planted in a small pierced pot, so it fits on a desktop.
A cymbidium in a ceramic pot is the traditional Korean gift for a promotion, a retirement, a new office or a formal congratulation. It is understood as the dignified choice — restrained rather than showy — and it is usually placed where visitors will see it.
A ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot, so please write the sender name exactly as you want it read.
