A deep purple Phalaenopsis orchid, planted up as a gift piece.
Two flower spikes arch away from one another, and green leaves and foliage are set between them to fill out the width. The flowers hold for a long season, so the plant goes on being looked at well after the day it arrives. In Korea the bloom is read as a wish for prosperity and a long life.
In Korea a Phalaenopsis is the standard gift for an opening, a promotion or a new appointment. This one is planted in a dark ceramic bowl and finished with a ribbon reading 祝 開業 대박나세요 — congratulations on the opening, may the business do well.

Looking after it
- Light Bright indoors, out of direct sun.
- Water When the moss or bark is dry through, water thoroughly and let it drain.
- Air Somewhere the air moves. Roots suffer in a closed corner.
- Temperature Happiest between 18 and 25°C. Keep it above 10°C in winter.
- After flowering Cut the spent spike away and keep the plant for its leaves.
