A white Phalaenopsis with a green cast to it, gathered into a white pot.
A purple marking at the centre of each flower gives it more depth than plain white would have. Green leaves are planted in below, so flower and foliage read together. The flowers hold for a month or two, often longer.
In Korea an orchid like this goes to an opening, a promotion or the taking up of a post — the gift is the plant itself, left to stand and keep flowering.
Water about every ten to fourteen days, once the surface of the compost has dried out, pouring at the roots and keeping the petals dry. Hold the room above fifteen degrees in winter.

Looking after it
- Light Bright indoors, out of direct sun.
- Water When the moss or bark is dry through, water thoroughly and let it drain.
- Air Somewhere the air moves. Roots suffer in a closed corner.
- Temperature Happiest between 18 and 25°C. Keep it above 10°C in winter.
- After flowering Cut the spent spike away and keep the plant for its leaves.
