A deep pink Phalaenopsis in a white cylinder, with variegated leaves tucked in below.
Several long spikes carry the flowers well out to the sides, so the plant takes up a good width. The colour is strong, and against the white pot the contrast is clear. The flowers hold for a month or two, often longer.
In Korea this is the plant that goes to an opening, a promotion or an inauguration — sent to stand in the entrance for the weeks that follow.
Water about every ten to fourteen days, once the surface of the compost has dried out, pouring at the roots and keeping the petals dry, since water marks them brown. Hold the room above fifteen degrees in winter.

Looking after it
- Light Bright indoors, out of direct sun.
- Water When the moss or bark is dry through, water thoroughly and let it drain.
- Air Somewhere the air moves. Roots suffer in a closed corner.
- Temperature Happiest between 18 and 25°C. Keep it above 10°C in winter.
- After flowering Cut the spent spike away and keep the plant for its leaves.
