A Phalaenopsis of mixed pink and yellow, the colour of a sunset.
Phalaenopsis is what is sent in Korea for an opening or a new post. Most are worked to a single colour; here the colour runs on within the petal, one shade bleeding into the next. The pot is white ceramic with vertical fluting, and a saucer comes with it.
The flowers last a month or two, often longer.
Water about every ten to fourteen days, once the surface of the compost has gone quite dry, at the roots rather than the flowers — water on the petals leaves brown marks. Keep the room above 15°C in winter, and clear of a draughty window.

Looking after it
- Light Bright indoors, out of direct sun.
- Water When the moss or bark is dry through, water thoroughly and let it drain.
- Air Somewhere the air moves. Roots suffer in a closed corner.
- Temperature Happiest between 18 and 25°C. Keep it above 10°C in winter.
- After flowering Cut the spent spike away and keep the plant for its leaves.

Will it arrive in flower?
That depends on the season and on the plant. Some go out in flower, some with the spike still rising. If it matters that it arrives in bloom, tell us before you order and we will check what we have that day.
How long do the flowers last?
Indoors at 18–25°C with some air movement, usually a month or two.
