Slender stems rise at different heights, each topped with a rounded bunch of leaves.

Compacta is the name used in Korea. Short pointed leaves cluster into balls at the top of every brown stem. Planted in a white cylinder pot with horizontal ribs.

Half shade does not trouble it, it is hardy, and it does not need watering often. Let the compost dry right out and then water generously; soft light rather than direct sun keeps the shape neat.

In Korea a pot like this is sent when a shop or an office opens, and it stands on that floor for years rather than a season. The flower meaning is prosperity, long life and happy love.

Looking after it

Light Bright indoors, out of direct sun. Scorched leaves do not grow back.
Water When the top of the soil is dry, water until it runs out of the bottom. Little and often does more harm than good.

Winter Keep it above 10°C and out of the path of a heater.
Leaves Wipe the dust off now and then. Clean leaves breathe.

What size should I choose?

Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.

Will I know it arrived?

We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.

Can I change or cancel the order?

Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.

Several slender stems rise and each one carries a tight rosette of leaves at its tip. About 1.5 m including the pot. It takes partial shade well and does not need frequent watering: soak it when the soil has dried right through, and keep it in soft light rather than direct sun so the shape stays even. Planted in a white cylindrical pot.
