Broad leaves edged in green and washed creamy white inside.

Marianne is the name it goes by in Korea. The leaves are wide ovals with pointed tips, spreading all round from short stalks that rise together from the base. The markings are so light that the plant does not darken a shadowed corner. Planted in a white cylinder pot, the soil finished with white stones.

It likes warmth and damp air and feels the cold, so a warm room through the winter matters.

Foliage such as this goes out in Korea as an opening present for a new shop or office, and it stays there for years afterwards. The flower meaning is unchanging love.
