An areca palm, its long slender fronds rising from the base and fanning out.
Thin stems come up in a clump from the base, and the fronds, cut into fine feathery leaflets, arch over as they spread. Planted in a white cylinder pot that narrows towards the top.
Bright indoor light suits it better than direct sun. Water generously when the top of the compost is dry, and in a dry room mist the leaves often. The tips sometimes turn yellow; that is natural, and the tip can simply be trimmed back with scissors.
In Korea an areca palm is a common opening present for a new shop or office, and it stands in that room for years rather than weeks. The flower meaning is resurrection and victory.

A wreath stands outside on the day and announces the opening to everyone passing. A plant stays in the shop afterwards. Many people send a wreath for the day and a plant for the years after.
Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.
We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.
Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.
Slim, long fronds come up in numbers from the base and spread like the ribs of a fan. In Korea it stands for revival and victory. About 1.1 m including the pot. The tips of the leaves sometimes yellow — this is a natural process, and you can simply trim that part with scissors. It prefers a bright room to direct sun; water generously when the surface soil has dried, and in a dry room mist the leaves often. Planted in a white cylindrical pot.
Potted foliage plants are the usual gift when a shop, office or clinic opens in Korea. They are placed by the entrance or the reception desk and stay there — the gift is meant to last rather than to be admired for a day.
A ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot.
