Thick woody trunks with long leaves spreading out in tiers.
Haengunmok is the Korean name. Stout brown trunks stand at two different heights, and long leaves with drooping tips gather in a tuft at the top of each. A pale yellow stripe runs down the middle of every green leaf.
It is tall but narrow, so it takes very little floor. Half shade is no trouble to it and it is not particular about where it stands. Water generously once the top of the compost has dried; only the winter temperature wants watching.
Please note that this one is sent in its nursery pot rather than repotted, the pot wrapped in pale lilac paper. In Korea foliage of this size goes to shops and offices as an opening present and is kept there for years. The flower meaning is good fortune and happiness.

A wreath stands outside on the day and announces the opening to everyone passing. A plant stays in the shop afterwards. Many people send a wreath for the day and a plant for the years after.
Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.
We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.
Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.
Leaves reach out in tiers from several thick canes. In Korea it stands for fortune and happiness. About 1.7 m including the pot. It is tall but narrow, so it does not take up much floor. It grows well in partial shade and is not fussy about where it stands; water generously when the surface soil has dried. It is somewhat tender to cold, so the only thing to watch is the room temperature in winter. Note: this item is sent in its nursery pot, not repotted.
Potted foliage plants are the usual gift when a shop, office or clinic opens in Korea. They are placed by the entrance or the reception desk and stay there — the gift is meant to last rather than to be admired for a day.
A ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot.
