A thick woody trunk, with long narrow leaves arching out in a bundle at the top.
Sun or part sun suits it: a bright window or a living room where the light is softened, with air moving through. The leaves hold their life in those conditions.
The trunk stores water, so it is very hard to dry out. Wait until the compost is dry right through, usually three or four weeks, then water until it runs from the base. Keep it indoors above 13°C through the winter. The pot is a grey cylinder with vertical ribs.
In Korea this is an opening-day plant. It goes to a new shop or office and stays there for years, which is why something this patient is sent.

A wreath stands outside on the day and announces the opening to everyone passing. A plant stays in the shop afterwards. Many people send a wreath for the day and a plant for the years after.
Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.
We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.
Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.
Slim, long leaves come out in bunches from a thick woody stem. A bright window or living room out of direct sun — full sun or half sun with soft light — suits it, and good air movement keeps the leaves lively. The stem stores water, so it is very tolerant of dryness: wait until both the surface and the soil beneath have dried out completely (usually every three or four weeks), then water until it runs from the bottom of the pot. In winter it must be kept indoors above about 13°C.
Potted foliage plants are the usual gift when a shop, office or clinic opens in Korea. They are placed by the entrance or the reception desk and stay there — the gift is meant to last rather than to be admired for a day.
A ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot.
Delivered anywhere in South Korea within three hours, and we send you a photograph of the plant in place once it arrives. If the pot or plant size shown is unavailable on the day, we substitute the closest equivalent and tell you before we deliver.
