A bird of paradise, its broad fan-like leaves rising one after another.
It usually flowers orange in June or July. Indoors that asks for good light and a plant that has had time to mature, so the flowers are seen more often on a well-grown specimen than a young one.
Bright light suits it, but hard midsummer sun will scorch the leaves. A window with a curtain across it is the right place. It is tender, so bring it in from the balcony into a warm room for the winter.
Korean shops and offices receive plants like this as opening gifts, and keep them standing in the same corner for years.

A wreath stands outside on the day and announces the opening to everyone passing. A plant stays in the shop afterwards. Many people send a wreath for the day and a plant for the years after.
Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.
We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.
Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.
Broad, large fan-shaped leaves rise in numbers. It usually flowers orange between June and July, though indoors that needs both enough light and a mature plant — you will see it more often on a well-grown specimen than on a young one. It likes bright light, but the hard direct sun of midsummer can scorch the leaves, so a window with light filtered through a curtain suits it. It is tender to cold: in winter move it from a balcony into the warm room.
Potted foliage plants are the usual gift when a shop, office or clinic opens in Korea. They are placed by the entrance or the reception desk and stay there — the gift is meant to last rather than to be admired for a day.
A ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot.
