A gajimaru whose trunk winds upward in a spiral, its leaves bunched tier by tier.
The root base is thick and fully exposed, so the years behind the tree are plain to see. It is planted in a white ceramic pot banded with horizontal lines.
Because the growth is tiered, the plant has a front and a back. Turn it once when it arrives and leave it facing the way you like it.
Foliage plants of this kind are the usual opening-day gift in Korea. They are sent to a new shop or office and stay there for years, so the trunk goes on thickening long after the card has been put away.
| Item | Foliage plant (gajimaru) |
|---|---|

| Size | About 1.3–1.5m tall |
A wreath stands outside on the day and announces the opening to everyone passing. A plant stays in the shop afterwards. Many people send a wreath for the day and a plant for the years after.
Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.
We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.
Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.
The trunk twists upward in a spiral, with the leaves bunched at each turn. The root base is thick and exposed, so the years the tree has been grown show in its shape. Planted in a white ceramic pot banded horizontally. Because the form is tiered, it has a front and a back — decide which way it faces.
Bright indirect light. Keep the soil lightly damp — water when the surface feels dry, rather than letting the whole pot dry out — and mist the exposed roots in a dry heated room. Like other figs it sheds a few leaves after being moved and then recovers.
Sent for housewarmings, studio and cafe openings and promotions in Korea. The bonsai-like trunk means it is usually displayed on a counter or a shelf where the shape can be seen, rather than on the floor.
A printed ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot, so please give the sender name exactly as you want it read. Delivered anywhere in South Korea within three hours, and we send you a photograph of the plant in place once it arrives. If the pot or plant size shown is unavailable on the day, we substitute the closest equivalent and tell you before we deliver.
