A schefflera, small leaflets gathered round each point like the ribs of an umbrella.

Several stems come up together, so the clump is dense, and the leaflets are small enough that the whole plant reads finely divided.

It is planted in a white pot drawn in at the waist, with white gravel over the soil. Foliage plants of this sort are the ordinary Korean opening gift, kept on for years in the shop or office.

Looking after it

Light Bright indoors, out of direct sun. Scorched leaves do not grow back.
Water When the top of the soil is dry, water until it runs out of the bottom. Little and often does more harm than good.
Air Somewhere the air moves. Roots suffer in a closed corner.
Winter Keep it above 10°C and out of the path of a heater.
Leaves Wipe the dust off now and then. Clean leaves breathe.

What size should I choose?

Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.

Will I know it arrived?

We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.

Can I change or cancel the order?

Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.

Schefflera

Small leaves gather in rounds like the ribs of an umbrella. Several stems come up so the plant is dense, and because the leaves are small the whole thing reads finely divided. Planted in a white pot with a narrowed waist, the soil topped with white gravel.

Light and water

It takes bright or moderate light and keeps going in less. Water when the top few centimetres of soil are dry, roughly fortnightly, and less in winter; overwatering yellows the lower leaves. Trim any stem that grows away from the shape and it will branch.

Sending a plant in Korea
