A Goldcrest cypress, close needle growth gathered into a cone.

It stands straight and widens towards the base, so it reads as a small tree. It is planted in a dark grey square column, with a small red-berried plant set in low at the front.

It stands on the floor. In Korea a foliage plant goes as an opening gift and stays in place for several years.

Looking after it

Light Bright indoors, out of direct sun. Scorched leaves do not grow back.
Water When the top of the soil is dry, water until it runs out of the bottom. Little and often does more harm than good.
Air Somewhere the air moves. Roots suffer in a closed corner.
Winter Keep it above 10°C and out of the path of a heater.
Leaves Wipe the dust off now and then. Clean leaves breathe.

Questions people ask

A plant or a wreath for an opening?

A wreath stands outside on the day and announces the opening to everyone passing. A plant stays in the shop afterwards. Many people send a wreath for the day and a plant for the years after.

What size should I choose?

Decide where it will stand first. We have floor plants for a corner and smaller pots for a counter. Tell us the spot and we will suggest the size.

Will I know it arrived?

We send you a photograph once it is in place. Ask when you order if you want the room in the shot.

Can I change or cancel the order?

Until we start making it up, yes — message us on the live chat with your order number and we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once the florist has started, we can no longer change it.

Monterey Cypress

Dense needle foliage gathers into a cone. It stands straight and widens toward the base, so it reads as a small tree. Planted in a dark grey square column pot, with a small plant carrying red berries set in at the base. A floor-standing size.

Light and water

This one wants the brightest spot you have and fresh air; it will thin out and brown in a dark room. It must not dry out completely — check the soil every few days and water before the surface is bone dry, more often in summer. Browned foliage does not green up again, so the watering is the whole job.

Sending a plant in Korea

Sent for housewarmings, cafe openings and as a seasonal gift, and it suits a home or a shop window more than a windowless office. Give it to someone who will actually water it.

Delivery and the ribbon

A printed ribbon carrying your name and the occasion phrase is attached to the pot, so please give the sender name exactly as you want it read. Delivered anywhere in South Korea within three hours, and we send you a photograph of the plant in place once it arrives. If the pot or plant size shown is unavailable on the day, we substitute the closest equivalent and tell you before we deliver.
